Deacon Schlaepfer is a member of Saint Ignatius of Antioch Parish in Yardley. He was born in Danbury, CT, and has one older brother, Ryan Schlaepfer. He grew up in Yardley, PA, attending Saint Ignatius of Antioch Church. Deacon Schlaepfer graduated from Pennsbury High School in 2016 and briefly attended Penn State University, where he studied biology before entering Saint Charles Seminary for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia in the fall of 2017. After nine years in formation at Saint Charles from 2017-2026, he was ordained a transitional deacon in May 2025. He has served in various parishes on assignment in the Archdiocese, including Sacred Heart in Oxford, Saint Patrick in Norristown, Saint Matthew in Philadelphia, and most recently Saint Stanislaus in Lansdale as a deacon. Deacon Schlaepfer loves baseball, which he played throughout his youth, as well as traveling with friends and family.

Reverend John Kist from the Diocese of Pittsburgh will concelebrate the Mass and preach the homily.
Eight men comprise the Ordination Class of 2026 for the Church of Philadelphia. Following the conclusion of Mass with the Rite of Ordination, most will be assigned to an archdiocesan parish where they will serve as parochial vicars. A parochial vicar is a priest appointed by the Archbishop to assist the pastor of a parish in his duties to tend to the pastoral and temporal needs of those entrusted to his care.
