Trust and Hope
Ambassador Program

Overview

The Trust & Hope Ambassador Program  is a  voluntary, grassroots communications network  that supports the Trust & Hope initiative by extending its story, progress, and local impact into parishes, schools, and ministries across the Catholic Church of Philadelphia.

Brand Ambassadors serve as  trusted local connectors, working in coordination with  Missionary Hub staff  and receiving  support and direction from the Catholic Church of Philadelphia’s Strategy Office, the team responsible for developing and implementing Trust & Hope.

Why This Program Exists

Trust & Hope is a long-term renewal effort. For it to succeed, people must:

    • Understand  what  it is
    • Trust  why  it matters
    • See  how  it’s already bearing fruit locally

This program addresses a core challenge: People understand and trust change best when it comes through people they already know.

Strategic Objectives

The Brand Ambassador Program is designed to:

    • Build  clarity and credibility  at the local level
    • Ensure alignment between the Strategy Office, Missionary Hubs, and local communities
    • Sustain  momentum between campaign flights and major milestones
    • Create a consistent feedback loop from the field to leadership

How the Program Works

The model is intentionally simple and scalable.

The Strategy Office provides:

    • Overall direction and alignment with Trust & Hope
    • Clear, consistent messaging and story prompts
    • Ready-to-share communications assets
    • Periodic briefings and updates
    • Recognition and relationship-building opportunities

Missionary Hub Staff provide:

    • Local context and pastoral grounding
    • Story identification and coordination
    • Ongoing relational support

Brand Ambassadors provide:

    • Local sharing through existing trust networks
    • Light storytelling and personal context
    • Direction to simple next steps (pray, serve, stay connected)
    • Informal feedback from the field

Participation is  opt-in, supported, and appreciative, not burdensome.

Recognition & Support (The “Carrot”)

To honor the time, trust, and leadership Ambassadors offer, the program includes:

    • Periodic gatherings  (e.g., quarterly coffees or lunches) with the Archbishop and/or Auxiliary Bishops
    • Visible recognition as trusted collaborators in the Trust & Hope effort
    • Branded swag  (e.g., Catholic Church of Philadelphia  quarter-zip sweaters or similar items)
    • Opportunities for  deeper connection  to the broader renewal work of the Church

“The renewal of our Church happens person by person, relationship by relationship.” — Archbishop Pérez (draft quote)

These are intended as  gestures of gratitude and relationship, not incentives tied to performance.

Measures of Success

Success is assessed qualitatively and practically:

    • Increased understanding of the Trust & Hope initiative – including the hubs — and consistency of messaging
    • Stronger coordination across Strategy Office, Hubs, and parishes.
    • Growth in engagement with Trust & Hope pathways (Pray, Serve, Stay Connected.)
    • A steady flow of authentic local stories

Purpose of the Role

A  Trust & Hope Brand Ambassador  is a trusted local leader who helps  share, humanize, and reinforce  the Trust & Hope story within their parish, school, or ministry.

Ambassadors collaborate with  Missionary Hub staff and receive  guidance and support from the Catholic Church of Philadelphia’s Strategy Office, ensuring clarity, consistency, and alignment.

What Ambassadors Receive

In gratitude for their leadership and service, Brand Ambassadors receive:

    • Relationship & Access
      • Invitations to periodic coffees or lunches with the Archbishop and/or Auxiliary Bishops
      • Opportunities to connect with others involved in Trust & Hope across the Archdiocese
    • Recognition & Belonging
      • Identification as a trusted collaborator in the Trust & Hope initiative
      • Occasional public or internal acknowledgment of service
    • Practical Support
      • Clear guidance, messaging, and shareable resources
      • Branded items (e.g., Catholic Church of Philadelphia  quarter-zip sweaters) as a sign of appreciation

[You are seen, trusted, and valued.]

What Ambassadors Do

Ambassadors are asked to:

    • Share updates  using provided materials
    • Highlight  local stories of renewal, often connected to Hub activity
    • Encourage simple engagement steps (pray, serve, stay connected)
    • Relay common questions or insights to Hub staff or the Strategy Office

Time commitment is light and flexible.

What Ambassadors Are Not

Ambassadors are not expected to:

    • Act as spokespeople or decision-defenders
    • Manage controversy
    • Create original messaging without guidance
    • Replace parish or Hub communications staff

Why This Role Matters

Trust & Hope grows when people encounter:

    • Familiar faces
    • Real stories
    • A sense that renewal is already underway

Brand Ambassadors help make that visible—and they do so  in relationship with the Church they serve.
