Catholic Church of Philadelphia Partners with Hallow to Deepen Faith and Renewal Through Trust & Hope

Philadelphia, PA – The Catholic Church of Philadelphia has partnered with Hallow as part of the ongoing Trust & Hope initiative led by Archbishop Nelson J. Pérez to foster growth in the spirit of Missionary Discipleship.

“The Church’s door has always been open,” said Archbishop Nelson J. Pérez. “Trust & Hope makes our local Church face outward to all. It invites people to come closer and look inside.  Hallow helps them encounter God in the quiet of their own hearts.”

Through this partnership, the five regional Missionary Hubs — along with an additional parish community — will incorporate Hallow into their existing evangelization and outreach efforts through:

  • Guided prayer experiences
  • Small group and faith-sharing opportunities
  • Seasonal Advent and Lent reflections
  • Digital resources to help individuals and families grow closer to God
  • Free Hallow accounts for clergy, seminarians, and religious brothers and sisters.

Additionally, all parishes and schools in the Archdiocese get access to a 10% diocesan level discount for any parishes or schools who wish to purchase a Hallow Parish Partnership Package.

Founded to help people grow closer to God, Hallow has become the world’s most widely used Catholic prayer app, with more than 30 million downloads and users in over 150 countries. In the Philadelphia region alone, Hallow has 200,000 users, nearly half of whom are not Catholic.

The app features thousands of guided sessions, meditations, Scripture reflections, music, and sleep content led by voices including Jonathan Roumie, Father Mike Schmitz, Bishop Robert Barron, Mark Wahlberg, Sister Miriam James Heidland, Jeff Cavins, and Scott Hahn.

Hallow was built to welcome people from all backgrounds — grounded in Catholic spirituality and contemplative tradition, but accessible to anyone searching for God.

Trust & Hope was launched by Archbishop Pérez to renew and strengthen missionary outreach across the Philadelphia region, especially among those longing for hope, belonging, or a deeper relationship with Christ.

Across the five counties of the Archdiocese, the Missionary Hubs are helping parishes build stronger connections, accompany people more personally, and create new pathways into the life of the Church. This partnership with Hallow extends that invitation beyond parish walls, offering moments of quiet and reflection that travel with people into daily life.

“Hallow is excited and honored to help build a richer, deeper culture of prayer across the Church, especially in Philadelphia. We’ve been deeply impressed with the leadership here and look forward to implementing our shared strategy so that all people can encounter Jesus in a daily habit of prayer,” said Josh Danis, Head of Parish and Diocesan Partnerships.

Additional details about upcoming Hallow opportunities and Trust & Hope events will be shared in the coming months at Trust and Hope and the Hallow app.
