Allen D. Wilen Named Recipient of 2026 Magis Award in Support of Catholic Senior Community Centers

The distinguished Philadelphia business leader was nominated for the award by peers in the financial services industry for his compassionate service. The award reception will support Catholic Charities of Philadelphia’s ministries to seniors in need in the region.

PHILADELPHIA, Sept. 10, 2026 — The Archdiocese of Philadelphia has announced Allen D. Wilen as the 2026 honoree for the eighth annual Project Magis reception. This year’s event raises vital funds to support Senior Community Centers, a key ministry of Catholic Charities of Philadelphia that champions the health, wellness, dignity, and independence of seniors in need across the region.

The Most Reverend Nelson J. Pérez, D.D., Archbishop of Philadelphia, will present the 2026 Magis Award to Wilen on Monday, November 9, 2026 at the Law Offices of Cozen O’Connor.

The Magis Award recognizes distinguished leaders within the Greater Philadelphia business community who, regardless of creed, demonstrate respect, dignity, kindness, and humility toward others in the performance of their profession. Honorees are deeply committed to service rooted in solidarity and justice, striving to increase the common good by doing more for others and creating a better society for those around them.

Wilen is a partner at EisnerAmper LLP and serves as National Director of the firm’s Financial Advisory Services Group, leading a team of over 200 professionals dedicated to litigation, valuation, turnaround, and restructuring matters. An accountant by training, Wilen has built a national reputation for more than two decades for helping distressed organizations navigate financial crises toward stable futures.

Early in Project Magis’ inception, Wilen became an essential supporter by generously offering space in EisnerAmper’s Philadelphia office for committee meetings, helping build momentum for the region’s most vulnerable populations.

His commitment to community stewardship is further reflected in his civic and religious leadership, including serving as Past President and current Lifetime Trustee at Congregation Beth El in Voorhees Township, New Jersey, and his long-standing dedication to the Arthritis Foundation of New Jersey, which previously honored him with its Healthcare Champion Award.

Wilen was nominated for this year’s award by industry peers Mark Minuti, Esq., partner at Saul Ewing LLP and the 2025 Magis Award recipient, and Linda McDonough, President of 50 Words LLC, and former President of the Catholic Charities Appeal Board.

“I have worked with Allen on a number of healthcare engagements and Allen treats everyone with respect and dignity,” said Minuti. “In one matter, Allen was prepared to personally fund baby formula for a hospital neonatal intensive care unit when it appeared that the hospital itself did not have the money to do so. In another case, Allen fought to find a buyer for 19 nursing homes, recognizing that the alternative was a shutdown and the displacement of hundreds of vulnerable residents.”

McDonough highlighted Wilen’s unique ability to bring conflicting parties together while preserving human dignity. “I have personally witnessed Allen’s passionate pleas with various stakeholders in restructuring engagements to save failing hospitals and nursing homes, ensuring that vulnerable patients and residents can continue to access high-quality care. He is a truly rare leader who uses his expertise and platform to protect people in crisis situations and advance the common good. While his impressive national accolades as a leader in the corporate restructuring industry speak to his immense professional success, it is his deep humility and quiet kindness behind the scenes that make him special.”
